With Melbourne's four seasons in one day, we have made sure that our bayside Beer Garden always provides perfect drinking weather. With a rotational beer tap list and a wide range of bottled and canned brews, it's the perfect place for kicking back with friends. We believe that whilst wine looks great on a list, it looks even better in a glass. Our predominantly Australian wine list has a style for everyone's palate and if you feel like livening the night up, be sure to check out our list of seasonal cocktails.
This bright-filtered ale takes inspiration from both the new and old worlds of brewing. It may be a hybrid ale in origin, but we like to think of it as the creation of a truly Australian style of ale.
Hoppy, but not too bitter, we use a whole bunch of hops from around the world to give us woody, green, floral notes with a bit of bite. The malt is subtle to balance the hops and keep things refreshing.
While the homage was flattering at first, things have been a bit awkward ever since we started edging out actual German-made wheat beers in international award competitions.
Now, HEF is one of our most highly awarded beers – which helped inspire the phrase ‘those in the know, insist on the mo’.
Inspired by our home on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and brewed using all Australian barley, wheat and Galaxy hops, Pacific Ale is cloudy and golden with a big fruity aroma and a refreshing finish.
Hawthorn Golden Ale is an all malt beer with no added sugar, chemicals or preservatives. Its easy drinking nature help suit this beer to a wide range of food types, including burgers and seafood; or equally enjoyable on its own. Best served chilled in a glass.
Cider has been around since 55BC but only became popular after the Norman conquest – we’re not sure who Norman was but he sounds intriguing.
The original – and some would say still the best – James Squire craft beer, the Amber Ale is deservedly on its way to becoming an Aussie institution. This full-bodied, malt-driven beer is characterised by its rich copper colour, toffee-caramel sweetness and nutty finish balanced against citrus hop notes.
Brunswick Bitter is made with all Australian ingredients and represents a return and rethink of the long lost Australian classic bitter ale styles. This is a sparkling ale, with zesty carbonation and distinct citrus, peach and passion fruit aroma but with a robust sessionable flavour. Geared for sessioning.
Furphy is a new, refreshing ale that is Geelong born and brewed from 100% Victorian ingredients. The first sip is clean and crisp, with a subtle balance of fruit and malt to keep it interesting. The finish is smooth and pleasantly refreshing. Given our brewery used to be an old mill, it’s no surprise Furphy is an easy-drinking ale that’s perfect for a session of yarn spinning.
XPA means Extra Pale, a product of Quickchange’s lighter malt base. That delicate colour though is undercut by a glorious hit of alpha oils from Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra hops. Sometimes you don’t want your mouth flayed raw and your liver worked to a standstill. Sometimes a few luscious notes of mango, guava, lychee and pineapple can be just the thing.
Malted wheat adds refreshing character, while the fruity infusion makes for an enticing aroma. Whether you’re enjoying a fresh cut of meat or a tempting smorgasbord of seafood and fresh produce, you’ll want one of these straw-coloured beauties as the perfect complement to a casual feast.
